Don't try these ridiculous internet challenges at home (or anywhere else)
Saturday, December 24, 2022
The internet has become a haven for aspiring daredevils looking to make a name for themselves. Unfortunately, some of these challenges can be dangerous or even deadly. We’ve seen videos of people attempting to perform dangerous feats like the “Tide Pod Challenge” or the “Cinnamon Challenge”, and it’s important to remember that these challenges are not safe and should not be attempted.
The Tide Pod Challenge, for example, involves people eating a laundry detergent pod, which can lead to serious health problems such as nausea, vomiting, and respiratory issues. The Cinnamon Challenge, on the other hand, requires participants to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon without drinking any water. This can cause severe throat irritation and lead to choking.
It’s important to remember that these challenges are not only dangerous but also incredibly stupid. Many of them have been created for the sole purpose of going viral and gaining attention on social media, which is why we should all be aware of the risks involved.
It’s also important to remember that these challenges can have legal repercussions. For example, the “Bird Box Challenge”, which required participants to wear a blindfold while completing various tasks, led to one teen being hit by a car after attempting the challenge in a parking lot.
We should all be mindful of the potential consequences of participating in these silly internet challenges. We should also recognize that these challenges are not only dangerous but also disrespectful of others’ safety. So please, don’t try these ridiculous internet challenges at home (or anywhere else)
